You know your agency's revenue, but do you know the profit on each client?

Many agencies know what came in this month but not which client earns them money and which costs more than it pays. Why that happens, and how Madar ties every expense to its revenue, from the first lead to the profit.

Ask any agency owner what their revenue was last month and they'll usually tell you. Then ask which client was the most profitable, and which service is quietly losing money. That's where the rough answers start.

Why doesn't the profit per client show?

Expenses are separated from their revenue: the designer's salary, the freelance photographer's fee and the tool subscription are recorded as general expenses, not as a cost on a specific client.

Money moves between several places: a company in Saudi Arabia and another in Egypt, partner accounts, and transfers between the two countries in two currencies, so what left and what arrived only match after a lot of effort.

Sales live in one place and accounts in another: the lead is in a sheet, the quote in a file, the invoice in another program, and commission is worked out by hand at the end of the month.

How Madar handles it

We built Madar for marketing and creative agencies that work this way, and TWING was its first user. The core idea is simple: every financial transaction is tied to its client, department and service.

Profit per client and department: every expense is tied to its revenue, so you see the real profit of each client, service and department without asking the accountant. And every number in the reports opens the transactions behind it.

Payroll and freelancers in the calculation: the monthly payroll and freelancer reports flow into each department's and client's profit automatically. Freelancers write their monthly report from their phone, and once you approve it, it becomes a cost spread across clients.

A ledger per company in its currency: each company or branch has a ledger in its currency, transfers between countries show as "in transit" until they arrive, and currency differences are calculated on their own. Reports combine everything or split each ledger.

Sales and commissions in the same place: a leads board with one owner per lead and duplicate detection, versioned quotes, and on acceptance the client and their subscription are created automatically. Commission is calculated on what was actually collected before tax, and reps see their progress live.

What about tax and financial statements?

Underneath the screens is real double-entry, and an approved entry is never edited, only reversed with a clear entry. One reporting engine produces the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and trial balance, plus a VAT report for each period. Connecting to the e-invoicing systems in Saudi Arabia and Egypt is on our roadmap; today Madar records the official invoice number, attaches it and includes its tax.

Who is it for?

A new two-person agency, a mid-size agency with a sales team and a full-time accountant, and a group of companies in more than one country. It works on any device, with an Android and iPhone app, in Arabic and English.

Plans, prices and the comparison are on the Madar page. And if your numbers are scattered between ads, sales and accounts, our reporting and analytics service brings them into one picture.
